How to choose a vacuum blender: top 5 best models and their specifications + customer reviews

1The main field of blenders is the preparation of fruit mousses, smoothies and purees.

Grinding fresh fruits and vegetables, we hope to preserve in them all those vitamins and nutrients, for which we eat them.

Blenders with the function of pumping air out of the bowl promise to help us in this.

What it is and how it works

The only difference between the vacuum blender from the usual stationary blender is a special pump on the lid, which removes air from the bowl before starting to work. The vacuum blocks the oxidation reaction, the mass is more homogeneous and does not foam. In addition, the vacuum causes molecular expansion of all components, which means that it will be easier for the blender to process them.

Benefit or myth?

Vitamins such as A, E and B suffer from contact with air. Vitamin C breaks down the fastest. Each of these vitamins is necessary for the proper functioning of the body and keeping it healthy. Vacuum blender manufacturers promise to keep them all in pristine condition.

Of course, none of the manufacturers ever presented the results of independent studies that all these vitamins were actually preserved by vacuum. However, a comparative experiment was conducted in which two green apples were chopped simultaneously on a vacuum and a stationary blender.

The result was "in your face": after one minute of grinding the apple in the stationary blender became very frothy, and after ten minutes of continuous mixing the mass became dark and brown.

At the same time, the apple chopped with a vacuum blender remained green even after ten minutes, and the mass was not frothy. The smell was also different: the apple from the vacuum blender continued to smell as it had just been cut.

No one can answer exactly how many vitamins remained in both apples after this experiment. Even if the vacuum does not work the way the manufacturers intended, it is safe to say that the appearance of the vacuum blender juice alone was preferable.

Advantages and disadvantages

One disadvantage of vacuum blenders: their price. Unfortunately, really functional and powerful blenders start at a price tag of 16,000 rubles. Not everyone can afford to pay more than 20 thousand for one kitchen appliance.

These blenders are also poorly suited for making smoothies in a hurry.. They need an average of 30 to 90 seconds to remove all the air from the bowl.

Vacuum blenders have many more advantages. Most of them easily chop any product, from soft, juicy fruit to nuts and grains. The mixture comes out with a homogeneous consistency, without air streaks or foam. The taste of juices and smoothies in a vacuum blender is noticeably superior to those made without air pumping.

I use a regular stationary blender at home and I was completely satisfied with it until I tried a friend's smoothie made with a vacuum blender, though the time it took her more than I did on his, but the taste was just indescribable and I think that such blenders are more expensive but worth it is confused a little that if the pumping air will not work, this blender probably immediately become the usual stationary. Maybe who knows how long such blenders work? What's the pity would be if it fails quickly. Thing is still expensive.

Here I choose a blender and literally from your article for the first time I heard about the existence of vacuum blenders. The fact that you have to wait a minute until the air is removed from the bowl - not a problem, in my opinion, but the other characteristics are impressive. I liked the Moulinex model, especially the fact that it also makes ice. It would be nice to add reviews of some more models, which would be good in your opinion.

  3. Anna says

I've tried smoothies made in a vacuum blender with friends and acquaintances, I honestly don't know why I would overpay for them, they look a little nicer. The vitamins will also go away as you pour into a glass. To me, all the pluses of vacuum blenders are nothing more than beautiful advertising from marketers. Although I know many who have already purchased them.
