Automatic - The machine itself determines the level of contamination and chooses the best program and water temperatures for cleaning.

Noise level

Small dishwashers can have both high and low noise levels.

The best option is a device with a noise level of 40-42 dB. However, such quiet models are much more expensive.

Leak protection

Unfortunately, not all small dishwasher models have the "Aquastop" function, which are sensors to control water filling.

We bought a portable machine for my mom, she lives alone and she just doesn't need a full-fledged machine. My mom has one of those Indesit models. The only disadvantages is that if the dishes are heavily soiled, it does not always wash well and dissolve capsules, especially those in plastic. It would be better to remove plastic from the tablet and put the tablet without it, even if "instant" is on the package. Otherwise an excellent option for retirees: a minimum of frills, uncomplicated operation and generally copes with the task. In principle, in these machines the drain can not be connected, and the hose is lowered into the sink at the time of operation.

I bought a Hotpoint-Ariston HCD 662 for my daughter who is a student. It's big enough for one person. Even a pot or frying pan can be washed. Dirt is excellent, dissolves all capsules without a trace. My daughter does not complain about the noise. Perfect for one person and a small room.
