Philips GC1758/80 EasySpeed: review, technical characteristics, pros / cons, reviews

Inexpensive, but quality iron with an anti-drip system and four steam modes. The body is made of plastic, the iron itself is lightweight, weighs about one kilogram. The water tank is small, only 220 milliliters. But the cord is long, almost two meters.

In addition, thanks to the hinge mounting, it will not be twisted during ironing. The soleplate is ceramic, non-stick and scratch-resistant. The Philips GC1758/80 iron is suitable for those whose closet has a lot of things that are difficult to iron.

Functionality

There are two buttons on the handle - for spraying water and steam. Just below is the steam intensity control knob. There are four modes to choose from: no steam at all, minimal steam, maximum steam, and eco-mode. Things can be steamed even in vertical position. But due to the small volume of the reservoir you have to refill the water often.

Moreover, you can steam things even in vertical position. Next to the regulator there is a water inlet and under the handle there is a temperature regulator with markings according to material type (synthetic, silk, cotton, linen).

This is a very convenient feature, because this way you are sure not to burn the thin fabric, which is also facilitated by the soleplate pattern, as well as its large size, thanks to which the iron covers a large area of fabric.

Features

Excellent steam performance: 2,000 watts. With this you can iron even the most difficult fabrics, such as linen. And thanks to the anti-drip system, the iron will not leave any stains on the clothes. For added safety, the device automatically turns off after 8 minutes if standing upright and after 30 seconds if standing horizontally. It also clears limescale automatically

Customer Reviews

Marina:

Just bought it yesterday, happy with everything so far, but the iron tends to leak a little when tilted! I would give it a 10/10 if it wasn't for that, but it's only an 8!
